HOW TO MAKE A DIGITAL VISION BOARD FOR YOUR PHONE WITH CANVA

A visual representation of your written goals

How to make a digital vision board for 2020 goal setting - new year resolutions - 2020 intentions #goalsetting #newyearresolutions #2020intentions #freeprintable

In this video I walk through how to make a digital vision board for your phone wallpaper using the free graphic design tool Canva.com

A vision board or dream board or goals board is a physical representation of our written goals

Canva is an amazing tool that helps anyone make great designs! With this free tool we’ll be creating our digital vision board which we can then set as our mobile phone wallpaper or tablet wallpaper. Using the same concept you can make one for your laptop or I-mac or desktop wallpaper.

I explain what a vision board is, how to create one and use one.

The video goes over these steps.

1.    Set up a wallpaper size artboard

2.    How to find and choose images and jpegs for your vision board

3.    Save your images for the vision board

4.    How to upload your jpegs, photos and images to canva

5.    How to use grids to create your dream board

6.    Things to consider when laying out your images

7.    How to add text

8.    How to add rectangles for contrast for text

9.    How to save and export your vision board

How to make a digital vision board for your phone with canva 2020 pins 2-02

I actually made this video on the fly and unplanned just so you can see how quick and easy it is!

I’d love to see your finished vision boards or whats on them. Comment below or share on social media and tag me @itstartswiththedream or use the hashtag #itstartswiththedream

A vision board is a visual version of your goals

Whilst goals are quite specific a vision board is more about setting a mood, creating a feeling that you connect with that when you see your board, you’re excited, passionate about it, working on your dreams and making them come true. Include on your visions board images that represent your dreams, goals, and desires. Pick images to cover the key areas of life like family, romantic relationships, work/business, calling/purpose, causes, health & body, leisure and downtime.

There are absolutely no rules!

It’s what ever you connect with.  I love to include motivations quotes and sayings. You can use a colour scheme on your dream board too. Really have some fun with it. Let yourself go, don’t hold back put what you fancy on it that inspires you to dream. Use this dream board hand in hand with your goals. Look at the vision board daily. Have it as your screen saver, on your phone, print it out and pin it up. Reviews your goals often too.

Creating goals and a vision board is one of the top tips on my blog post, 10 Success habits. if you want to see the other 9 visit bit.ly/goalcol

I also have another video making one for a desktop that includes a link to a free template.

What does learning a new language have to do with starting a business?

More than you might think.

Today I'm sharing a personal story about moving from Zambia to the UK as a child, losing my mother tongue, and what my colleagues taught me about courage, resilience, and being willing to sound like a beginner.

Because nobody becomes fluent by staying silent.

And the same is true when you're building a business, sharing your story, or stepping into a new season of life.

I'm curious 🤔 have you've overcome a difficult season in your life...

AND you've never shared what you learned because you're not sure anyone would pay for your experience.

You've done the healing.
You've gained the wisdom.
You've come through the other side.

But your story is still sitting on the shelf instead of helping someone else.

Who can relate?

When things go wrong, it's so easy to wonder what you did to deserve it, or if God's somehow disappointed in you. But there's not always a reason, life happens.

But I believe God will take what was meant for evil and then it for good.

He'll use it to heal you and make you more like him.

He'll use the same thing that broke you to help someone else come back to life.

Your story matters.

I'm opening up 3 spaces for 1:1 coaching in July to help women uncover the treasure in their story and start using it to create a service or product to impact others.

Somewhere along the way I had equated being a Christian with everything going well and life growing in all the outward ways (status, money, influence).

And for some time that was my life!

✅I studied the degree I wanted at the University of my choice.
✅I got a job in fashion (both competitive and hard to get into).
✅Kept increasing my income.
✅I got married, bought a home and had kids.

But then…everything unraveled 😵‍💫

I experienced postnatal depression. Financial pressure mounted. We burned through savings trying to make ends meet. I developed arthritis and struggled with everyday tasks that should have felt simple.

And honestly, I was DEVASTATED and questioned God’s love for me.
But here’s the thing - while it was a time of intense pain and hardship, from that pain, my business “It Starts with a Dream” was born. I shared my journey, created planners, journals then courses and then coaching.

The truth is: God uses the hard things.

Every disappointment taught me something.
Every struggle revealed something in me that needed healing.
Every season of loss developed compassion, wisdom, resilience, and dependence on Him.

Nothing was wasted.

And that's what I now see in the women I work with too.

So many of them believe they're disqualified because their journey has been messy.

Because they're still healing.
Because they don't have the perfect testimony or the perfect plan.
But often the very things they're tempted to hide are the things God wants to use.

The marriage lessons 🔥
The parenting lessons 🔥
The career lessons 🔥
The wilderness seasons 🔥

You see, the calling isn't separate from your story.
It's built from it.

If you've been sensing that God wants to use your experiences to help other women through coaching, courses, or digital products, but you don't know how to turn your story into something tangible, that's exactly what I help women do.

I’m actually opening up (3) 1:1 spots, beginning July 1, to help you do this at a price point that won’t break the bank. If you’d like to learn more and discern whether this can work for you, send me a DM or book a call bit.ly/DCCalled

2 big things right now...

I'm closing down part of my offers to make space for the new. It's been hard to do so, because I'm so proud of what I'd created and how they've helped people. But I've not been feeling passionate about them and not looking to update them at present because I'm really been focused on designing my life and inner healing.

So I want to make space for what comes out of that. For the rest of the month you can get these amazing offers.

1. I'm running a 70% off sale on Etsy until the end of the month then the shop will go into holiday mode and possibly deleted.
https://www.etsy.com/shop/itstartswiththedream

2. I'm retiring my original course Planners on demand (create planners with print on demand) and it is available to buy at 65% off iitstartswiththedream.com/plannersondemand OR type *demand* to get the link to your DMs

You'll be getting amazing value and all the other bonuses like planner canva templates, sales page templates and more!

The part of your story you keep editing out?

That’s probably the exact part someone else needs to hear.

Not the polished version.

The burnout.
The cancelled launch.
The year you lost yourself a little.
The rebuilding.

We try so hard to skip to the redeemed ending that we forget people connect through the messy middle.
Your reader doesn’t need another perfect woman online. She needs proof that someone survived the chapter she’s currently living.

Polished people are easy to admire.

Authentic people are the ones who make people stay.

Maybe the part you’re trying to hide is actually the very thing God wants to use. 🌿

I wrote a blog/Substack post about sharing the scar, not the wound, and why your story matters more than you think.

As I started to experience more anxiety last year I had to come back to the basics I'd learnt and practiced over a decade from when I had PND.

Not everything is in my control.

I started to be more intentional in handing over in prayer to God what I couldn't change.

I focused back on what was in my control.

I'm not fully out of it but I'm in a much better place. Some lessons are made to be practiced, day in and day out.

Prayer: God today I have over to you everything, but especially what I can't control. Let my peace be in you always not the outcome. Amen
